✨ …as ADVENT continues
This week we light Bethlehem’s Candle, the Candle of Faith.
Micah foretold that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, so this candle focuses our attention on the journey of Mary and Joseph as they travelled in faith toward the birth of Christ.
Many people today live as if “this is all there is,” or regard faith as merely a theory or philosophy. Even Christians can find faith challenging at times—struggling with doubt, or trying to manage life without fully trusting God.
Growing in Faith this Advent
1. Faith is an encounter with Jesus.
Faith unites us with the living God revealed in His Son.
“Faith is to touch Jesus and to draw from Him the grace which saves.”
2. Faith grows through daily prayer.
Take time each day to pray earnestly. Ask for the grace of surrender.
3. Faith leads to action.
St James tells us: “Faith without works is dead.”
Faith blossoms into love for God and neighbour.
