🙌 A Call to Serve

Reviving the St Francis Society for the Poor

In a world where compassion is needed more than ever, we are reminded of our shared calling to care for one another — especially the most vulnerable among us.

Though the St Francis Society for the Poor has been quieter since COVID-19, the spirit of service has never faded. Even in challenging times, small acts of kindness continued to make a difference in our parish.

Now, with renewed energy and hope, we are joyfully revitalising this important ministry.

Already, five dedicated members have stepped forward to be part of this new beginning. But this mission is bigger than a few — it is an invitation to all.

An invitation to live out our faith through action.
An invitation to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.

If you feel even the slightest stirring in your heart to serve, we encourage you to respond.

👉 Add your name to the list at the back of the church and take the first step on this meaningful journey.
You will be contacted with details of the next gathering.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

🙏 Thank You – Capuchin Custody of South Africa

“Thank you”… these are simple words, yet they express our heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the brothers of the Capuchin Custody of South Africa.

The second collection taken over the Easter weekend in our Capuchin parishes supports the work and ministry of the Capuchin friars in our country, as well as the education of our priests.

We thank you for your generosity — both in kind and in prayer.
May God bless you and your families and reward you abundantly.

🙏 Continued Prayers for Our Archbishop – Week 5

“May he be Christ’s heart of mercy”

We Pray

Lord God, you call shepherds to guide your people.
We thank you for our new Archbishop, Sithembele Sipuka.

Bless him with wisdom, courage, and compassion as he leads your Church.
Fill him with your Holy Spirit, guide his words and actions in truth and love, and keep him strong in faith and humble in heart.

May he be Christ’s heart of mercy, voice of hope, and hands of justice for all entrusted to his care, uniting us in faith and purpose.

Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord.
Amen.

Blessing

May the God of simplicity be with Archbishop Sithembele Sipuka,
and with all the faithful in the Archdiocese of Cape Town.

Opening us to a clear vision of what is real and true, leading us deeply into the mystery of childhood.
May our dealings with others be marked by honesty, which is simplicity.

May the blessing of simplicity be on us.
