🙏 Continued Prayers for Our Archbishop – Week 6
“May he be Christ’s voice of hope”
We Pray
Lord God, you call shepherds to guide your people.
We thank you for our new Archbishop, Sithembele Sipuka.
Bless him with wisdom, courage, and compassion as he leads your Church.
Fill him with your Holy Spirit, guide his words and actions in truth and love, and keep him strong in faith and humble in heart.
May he be Christ’s heart of mercy, voice of hope, and hands of justice for all entrusted to his care, uniting us in faith and purpose.
Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord.
Amen.
Blessing
May the God of hope be with Archbishop Sithembele Sipuka,
and with all the faithful in the Archdiocese of Cape Town.
May our inner hope — for our own future and that of our Archdiocesan community — become a beacon of hope that does not disappoint.
May the blessing of hope be with us always.
✝ Eastertide
This liturgical season begins after the Easter Octave — the eight days following Easter Sunday — extending the celebration of Easter.
Eastertide, or Paschal Tide, is the 50-day season celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus, from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday.
Key Aspects:
- Duration: 50 days (Easter Sunday to Pentecost)
- Significance: Focus on the resurrected Christ and the foundation of Christian faith
- Liturgical Focus: Frequent use of Alleluia, white/gold vestments, and the Paschal Candle
- Customs: Includes the Easter Octave as a prolonged feast
Eastertide emphasizes joyful celebration, in contrast to the solemnity of Lent.
