St Francis, pray for us
All Parishes in the Archdiocese of Cape Town are encouraged to celebrate the Care of Creation Mass on the World Day Of Prayer for Creation – 6 September 2026.
Combining sacred elements of our Holy Catholic Mass with environmental action, focusing on the theme Immersion in Living Water, we wish to celebrate this day in our parish at ALL MASSES for that weekend 5 & 6 September.
As part of this event and to support the theme we ask parishioners to kindly support this day by donating outdoor plants (consider environmental supporting plants as far as possible) that we can plant within our parish grounds as well as our columbarium.
In this way we embrace, engage and support the many elements we encounter daily. St Francis viewed the elements as his family members and in this way we begin to understand that all creation shares a common bond with God.
✝️ Plenary Indulgence for the Jubilee Year of St. Francis
10th January 2026 to 10th January 2027
A plenary indulgence is the full remission of temporal punishment for sins.
The conditions to receive the plenary indulgence during this jubilee are:
- Visit any Franciscan Church
- Spend time in prayer and reflection on the Franciscan spirit
e.g. Our parish ‘praying with Francis’ monthly sessions - Sacramental Confession
- Holy Communion
- Prayers for the Pope
🤝 Counseling at our Church
We believe in walking together through life’s challenges, and we are grateful to offer counseling opportunities within our church family.
Group Counseling: Join us every Thursday (we began on 20 August) at 17:30 for a time of shared support and encouragement.
One-on-One Counseling: Personal Sessions are available every Wednesday, offering a safe space to talk and be heard.

RCIA – An adult journey in Faith
A new preparation program for those wanting to join the Catholic Church or for Catholics wishing to deepen and grow in their faith began on Thursday 13 August at 7pm.
